Who He Is
Jean-Paul is not a joke character. This matters. He does serious narrative work as the only omniscient voice in the Porch world — witness to everything, participant in nothing, reporter of whatever the humans are too close to see clearly.
He was found. He has a pink bow Grace tied on him. He answers to French curses and banana pudding. One eye is cracked. The other has been glowing blue-green since the Pensacola Incident, details of which remain undisclosed.

The Cooler
Jean-Paul is inseparable from the cooler — found near a Waffle House dumpster, duct-taped, labeled MISC. BIOMEDICAL. Grace tied a pink bow on it. Nobody says what's in it. Jean-Paul already knows. The humans continue regardless.
On the Porch
Jean-Paul appears in every Porch story. He doesn't have to say much. He doesn't have to say anything. He was already there when you arrived.
